Employee benefit plans are a valuable fringe benefit for employees; however due to the extreme complexity of technical requirements associated with these plans, there can be significant exposure for companies if the accounting is not properly conducted. Our firm has specialized in accounting and consulting services for employee benefit plans for over 20 years, conducting both plan audits and voluntary compliance reviews for large and small companies.

        With offices in Erie and Meadville, we believe that we are the most highly qualified firm in the region to perform plan audits. In the past year we performed audits of 32 plans and master trusts. Due to our specialization in this area, we conduct many employee benefit plan audits for larger companies that have their corporate financial audit performed by national/international firms. Frequently these national/international firms view the plan audit as being a collateral function to the corporate audit. Too often the plan audit is implemented and supervised by lower level staff and receives little attention from persons technically trained in this area. Our firm’s exclusive focus is on the plans themselves and we have a thorough understanding of compliance issues with both the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service that are unique to these plans.
